This policy is from Zyfer Pty Limited (ABN 27 652 367 498) trading as LENDACAR ("we", "us").

What we collect

Your name, date of birth, email, mobile and WhatsApp number, nationality and home address.
Your driver's licence details and a photo of the licence (front, and back if you add it). Passport number if you give it.
Contact details for one or two friends or family members who can reach you.
Your booking details, payments, notes, odometer and condition records.
Messages you send through the chat on this site, and the time and IP address of your booking and agreement to the terms.

Why we collect it

To check you're eligible and able to drive, and to approve and manage your hire.
To contact you, take payment and refund your bond.
To deal with fines, tolls, accidents, insurance and police requests.
To contact your nominated friend or family member only if we cannot reach you and have a real concern (for example an unreturned car or an emergency).
To keep records we're legally required to keep.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information or use it for third-party advertising. We only share it with: authorities that issue fines or tolls (your name and licence details when an infringement is nominated to you), police and courts if asked or required by law, our insurers or repairers if there is a claim, our payment and email providers, and our website host. We don't send you marketing unless you ask us to.

Where it's stored

Your details and licence photos are held in a private area of our web hosting that is not reachable from the public website, and only the LENDACAR owners can view them after logging in. Our host's servers are in the United States, so your information may be stored outside Australia. Emails about your booking go through our email provider.

How long we keep it

We keep licence photos for the length of your hire and for up to 90 days after you return the car and everything is settled, then delete them, unless a fine, claim or dispute is still open. We keep booking and payment records for 7 years because of tax and accounting law. Chat messages are kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we no longer need it. Email book@lendacar.au and we'll answer within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to us first, then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Cookies and tracking

We use a small token in your browser's local storage so the chat window can remember your conversation. We don't use advertising cookies. We don't use analytics at this time.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including keeping licence photos out of the public website, requiring a password for the admin area and sending data over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please tell us straight away if you think your information has been misused.
